New training program offered at Burgard

The public is invited to an informational meeting about a new exploratory training program for adults.

The session, scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at Burgard High School, 400 Kensington Ave., is sponsored by the adult education division of the Buffalo Public Schools and Alfred State College of Technology. Registration for the meeting is not required. For more information, call 888-7088, Ext. 111.

The exploratory program will introduce adults to careers in welding and advanced manufacturing and will run for three hours, twice a week for seven weeks. The program is free.

The goal is to connect those who go through the introductory program at Burgard to the nearby Northland Workforce Training Center on Northland Avenue for further training that will prepare them for jobs.
