Driver who ran stop sign killed in Chautauqua County crash

A 50-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed in a car crash in Chautauqua County on Saturday after he ran a stop sign and was hit by a dump truck.

Victor M. Luce Jr. of Reading, Pa., was traveling west on County Route 66 and didn't stop at the intersection with County Route 380 in the Town of Ellery, where there is a stop sign, State Police said. His 2020 Honda was struck by a 1997 International Dump truck heading north on Route 380.

Luce was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted officers.
