Man arrested after trying to pin auto accident on his mother

A Sanborn man faces half a dozen charges after he unsuccessfully tried to blame his mother for an auto accident in the Town of Lewiston, police reported.

Police said Lucas A. Livolsi, 30, of Upper Mountain Road, told officers investigating a car in a ditch on Indian Hill Road shortly before midnight on Feb. 14 that his mother had been behind the wheel and was picked up by a family member.

Police said they called Livolsi’s parents, who said they were home, in bed, and had not been out for several hours.

A records check showed Livolsi’s driver’s license had been revoked after drunken driving convictions in 2010, 2013 and 2016. He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and five other counts.
