Plenty of fanfare has already surrounded FC Buffalo's 10th anniversary season: a friendly against Liga MX team Monarcas Morelia's reserves leads into the Wolves' trip to Germany, where the club will play at least two exhibition matches.
While the international exhibitions and overseas trip is a nice way to commemorate the National Premier Soccer League team's endurance, domestic success has proven elusive, as FC Buffalo hasn't made the league's postseason since 2013.
Head coach Frank Butcher and assistants John Grabowski and Casey Derkacz are expected to lead the charge into the 2019 campaign, for which the Midwest Region East Conference's schedule was released Friday. All of FCB's home matches will again be played at Robert E. Rich All High Stadium, at 2885 Main St. behind the former Bennett High School.
Pittsburgh Hotspurs were added to the conference officially on Feb. 21, finalizing the East at six teams. They have no affiliation with the Fort Pitt Regiment, a conference foe last season and throughout the club's history. The 10-game regular season slate sees each team play the other conference members twice, once home and once away.
