Lewiston woman charged with DWI after crashing into Niagara Falls house

A Lewiston woman who crashed into a Niagara Falls house early Wednesday morning was charged with driving while intoxicated, according to a police report.

The crash happened at about 2:20 a.m. on Lewiston Road, near College Avenue.

The driver of the Toyota Camry had left the scene by the time police arrived. Officers searched the area and found Mikaela Prygon, 19, who had walked north on Lewiston Road, according to the report.

Prygon failed several field sobriety tests. At times, she was unable to recall what happened, according to the report, and was taken by ambulance to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where she was evaluated and released. She refused a Breathalyzer test but submitted to a blood test at the hospital.

She was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident. No estimate of damage to the house was included in the report.
