A mistaken alert sent out at the Walden Galleria caused some stores to close temporarily, according to Cheektowaga Police.
"There is no emergency at the mall," Assistant Chief Michael Sliwinski said in a statement.
Sliwinski said that "a mistake was made" by Walden Galleria security. He said that a limited alert should have been sent out as a weekly test but instead, "accidentally a full alert was sent out, causing stores to close."
