Hertz on Pearl Street robbed for second time in a month

A man in a mask robbed the Hertz car rental on Pearl Street on Tuesday, according to a Buffalo police report.

The robber, who had a bag over his hand, demanded keys to vehicles at the business, located between West Tupper and Edward streets. He grabbed an employee by the collar and forced him to open a vault, according to the report.

In addition to six sets of keys, the robber also took two cellphones and an employee's keys. A summary of the police report did not include the time the robbery occurred.

An employee told police the robber's voice sounded like the man who robbed the business Jan. 18. In that incident, the robber had one hand wrapped in a plastic bag, grabbed an employee by the neck and demanded keys, according to a separate police report. He left the scene with card keys and three cellphones.
