A Buffalo man who shot two men – including off-duty Buffalo Police Officer Christopher Bridgett – exiting a bar on Broadway was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison by Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said Bridgett, 29, and Darnell Davis, 28, were leaving the Groove Lounge on Broadway in the early morning hours of July 22 when they were shot by 41-year-old Adrian Lias.
Police located Lias a short time later with a .45 caliber pistol in a vehicle on Jefferson Avenue. The gun was the weapon used in the shooting, prosecutors said.
Both victims have made a full recovery from their injuries, prosecutors said.
Last month, Lias pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
