Reports of a suspicious car in a Grand Island apartment complex parking lot resulted in a Youngstown man being arrested on driving while intoxicated and drug charges early Friday morning, according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office.
Vincent Ligammari, 27, was arrested on felony counts of DWI-previous conviction and criminal possession of a controlled substance after deputies allegedly found two small bags of cocaine and an unopened can of beer, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said they responded to complaints of a suspicious vehicle at the Town Hall Terrace apartment complex at about 7:15 a.m. Friday, observing a vehicle stationary in the middle of the parking lot with the engine running and the lights on.
Deputies said that when they approached the vehicle, they observed an individual asleep in the driver’s seat.
After waking Ligammari up, deputies said they discovered the vehicle’s registration was suspended, and Ligammari was searched.
Ligammari was also charged with misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle with a suspended registration and a violation for operating a vehicle without insurance.
He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment, then later released.
