A fire Monday damaged a one-story home at 3174 Stony Point Road, the Grand Island Fire Company reported.
Deputy Fire Chief Mark Sadkowski said the house was “fully involved” when firefighters arrived at about 7 a.m., in response to several calls reporting flames shooting through the roof.
Crews were at the scene for more than four hours, according to fire officials. Providing mutual aid were firefighters from Sheridan Park, Brighton, River Road and the City of Tonawanda.
Fire Chief Matt Osinski estimated damage at $80,000 to the building and $10,000 to contents. Fire officials said the house reportedly was being renovated by the owner, who was not present.
No injuries were reported. A cause has not been determined, officials said.
