Buffalo man dead in University Heights shooting marks city's third homicide of year

A 32-year-old Buffalo man died as a result of a Sunday night shooting in University Heights, according to the Buffalo Police Department.

This marks the city's third homicide of 2019.

Buffalo police officials say two Buffalo men were struck by gunfire just before 9:40 p.m. Sunday night outside of a residence in the 3000 block of Main Street. The 3000 block of Main Street runs approximately from LaSalle Avenue north to just past Lisbon Avenue.

Both men arrived at Erie County Medical Center in civilian vehicles, officials said. One 31-year-old male was treated and released; the 32-year-old was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Buffalo police are continuing to investigate.
