Frewsburg man faces multiple charges after traffic stop

A Frewsburg man was arrested on multiple charges, including drunken driving, following a traffic stop Sunday morning for expired inspection and insufficient brake lights.

Town of Carroll Police, who pulled over the vehicle at 36 Water St. at 11:37 a.m., reported that the driver, Dennis A. Eklund, 52, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated and with a suspended driver's license for a previous alcohol-related offense.

Eklund was charged with first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operations; DWI and DWI per se, both misdemeanors; unlicensed operation; uninspected motor vehicle; insufficient brake lights; and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Eklund was taken to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment under the Centralized Arraignment Program.
