Letter: Maginot Line shows how barriers really work

If Donald Trump were not so ignorant of history, he would know that a massive concrete wall along our border with Mexico will be a failure. To prevent invasion, in the 1930s France built the “Maginot Line,” a massive concrete fortification 200 miles long on its border with Germany. It was indeed impregnable; so, in 1940 the Germans just went around it.
