Name: Jennifer K. Fortune, 46.
Who she is: Media director, FIFTEEN, an advertising and marketing agency on Delaware Avenue. She is responsible for making strategic media decisions on how to get a product or service to a target audience. The North Buffalo native is a graduate of Nardin Academy and Allegheny College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications. She received her master’s in public relations management from SUNY Buffalo State, where she now teaches a course in public relations writing. She and her 2-year-old golden retriever, Poppy, live in Kenmore.
What she’s wearing: Lauren by Ralph Lauren white tuxedo shirt from Lord & Taylor; Lands’ End black pants; emerald green cashmere wrap from Talbots; Clarks dark-green tassel loafers she ordered from London; Alexis Bittar earrings she bought at Neo on Elmwood Avenue; black bag from Henri Bendel monogrammed with her initials; Daniel Wellington watch; two rings – one that belonged to her grandmother, the other a custom design.
Signature looks: Oversized sunglasses, including a Céline Paris design, and her red hair, styled in a bob.
Fashion statement: “My style is preppy with a little bit of sass. I love clean lines; I love a good monogram. I love Stan Smith sneakers (Adidas) and nautical stripes, but I also like to give nods to different cultures and eras. I like Asian fabrics and kimonos. I like the Brigitte Bardot era. My nod to French fashion is where my red beret comes in.”
Also: “You can always incorporate a trend into your accessories. You don’t have to wear it head to toe. It doesn’t have anything to do with your size or your age. You make your own style.”
Last purchase: The long red cardigan and black and white shirt from Talbots she wore Feb. 8 to the 2019 Buffalo Niagara Go Red for Women luncheon at the Lexus Club, hosted by the American Heart Association – New York.
In the market for: It’s more something that she covets, she explained. “My most coveted item is a Chanel black leather quilted handbag with chain strap. I love luxury handbags,” she said.
