Letter: Immigration’s humanity should not be forgotten

The Buffalo News on Jan. 31 had what I believed was meant to be a pro-immigration opinion article by an Amherst resident, but a sentence in its last paragraph resonated as if it was written by a pre-Civil War plantation owner.

It stated: “We need our immigrant population to fill jobs, to restore neighborhoods and to increase the economy.” That sounded extremely self-centered.

What happened to the human aspect of immigration? Who ruined the neighborhoods and the economy?
