Wanted: more investors to bolster upstate startups.
Launch New York hopes to sign up more than 300 accredited investors in the next two years to its newly established investor network.
Launch New York invests in and mentors startups in the 27 westernmost counties of New York state. Since 2016, its seed fund has invested more than $1.6 million in 35 companies. Meanwhile, 120 co-investors have invested an additional $20 million in additional funding in those companies.
"We are seeking individuals who want to commit their funding on a deal-by-deal basis, but who also may wish to offer other resources and guidance, that all-important membership," said Marnie LaVigne, Launch New York's president and CEO.
Launch New York's long-range goal is to create a network with more than 1,000 accredited investors.
