Lockport Mayor Michelle M. Roman, a Democrat who won a one-year unexpired term last November, announced her candidacy Sunday for a full four-year term.
Roman, a teacher at Holley Central School, keeps mid-afternoon to early evening office hours.
"Last year I promised the voters that their voices would be heard at City Hall and I am doing everything in my power to deliver on that pledge," Roman said in a statement.
"Residents are happy about the expanded access to the mayor’s office and City Hall in general. We have been able to start reforming city government, but accomplishing everything in one year is impossible. I know the people of Lockport will be happy with what they see over a full Michelle Roman term," she said.
