Mayor Arthur G. Pappas and his wife, Linda, will host North Tonawanda's ninth annual Mayor's Charity Snowflake Ball from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday in the Knights of Columbus, 755 Erie Ave.
The ball was founded by Pappas' predecessor as mayor, State Sen. Robert G. Ortt. The proceeds benefit a different program each year, and this year's chosen charity is Twin Cities Meals on Wheels. It serves about 26,000 meals a year on five routes in North Tonawanda and four in the City of Tonawanda.
The event will feature live music and plenty of food, mostly donated by local restaurants.
Tickets are $50 per person or $90 per couple, and may be reserved by calling the mayor's office at 695-8540. Tickets also will be available at the door.
