JOHENGEN, MArgery M. (Ludwig)

JOHENGEN - Margery M. (nee Ludwig)
Age 91, of Amherst, NY, passed on January 12, 2019 at her home in Nashville, TN, while in Hospice Care. Her daughter and son were by her side. Margery was born March 22, 1927 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Edward and Emma Ludwig. Margery was class Valedictorian of Mount St. Joseph High School in 1944. She was united in marriage to William L. Johengen who preceded her in death. They were married for 45 years. Margery was an active member of St. James Church in Buffalo, NY as well as St. Leo's in Amherst, NY. She was involved in CFM, CYO, Cursillio, Girl Scouts, served on the First Diocesan Liturgical Commission, organized retreats, served on the board of the Western NY Inter Faith Women's Group. Designed and made the Diocesan Baptismal Bibs worn by children being baptized in the Diocese, since 1982. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were each given one at the time of their Baptism, she embroidered these until recently. She was one of the first Eucharist Ministers in the Diocese of Buffalo. At the age of 60 went to work at the Diocesan Pamphlet Society and then became the manager until the closing at the ripe age of 80. Her gift of Faith to her family was unwavering. She is survived by her children and spouses; Linda (David) Siclari of Nashville, TN, Edward (Linda) of Alden, NY; six loving grandchildren and their spouses; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Eileen Burns, one brother, Paul (Lorraine) Ludwig; and two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Ludwig and Dorothy Ludwig; predeceased are her brother-in-law, Philip Burns, two brothers, Edward and Joseph; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jean (William) Brown. A Funeral Memorial Mass will be held February 23, 2019 at 9 AM. Reception immediately following at St. Leo RC Church, 558 Sweethome Road, Amherst, NY.
