Aaron Chase, an All-Western New York first team quarterback from Starpoint, will continue his football career at the University at Buffalo, he announced on Twitter.
Chase will be a preferred walk-on with the Bulls and be part of the summer training camp roster.
Chase threw 36 touchdown passes, which tied Joe Licata for second place on the all-time Western New York list, and directed an offense that averaged 45.7 points and 490 yards per game, both school records. He set seven school records during his career, including single-season marks for passing yards (3,053), total TDs (40) and completions in 2018.
He also kicked 42 extra points and average 35 yards per punt.
"I picked UB because of the exciting, winning culture, amazing coaches, the opportunity to prove myself at the highest level of college football and close proximity to home," said Chase, who also said he was "seriously considering" Brockport and Mercyhurst. He also had interest from a few Division II schools.
