A strong option for bubble tea and small plates of Asian-fusion cuisine is headed for Hamburg.
Amherst-based Tea Leaf Cafe has announced a new Southtowns location to complement its existing space, at 4224 Maple Road, the business confirmed on Facebook.
The new location, at 3835 McKinley Parkway, will share a small plaza with GEICO's Hamburg office, Wild Birds Unlimited and Nail Max. There's no set opening date yet due to an uncertain timetable surrounding renovations.
Open since July 2010 in Amherst, Tea Leaf has carved out a niche through 50 flavors of bubble tea (both fruit and milk-based), 35 types of loose-leaf tea and coffee and espresso drinks, plus a tasty banh mi and several other bites such as Taiwanese popcorn chicken, a chicken katsu curry box and pork dumplings.
While it's a drinks-focused establishment, Tea Leaf boasts reliable Wi-Fi and a comfortable space to work. The cafe is popular among University at Buffalo North Campus students, especially.
