Erie County Central Police Services receives bomb threat

A two-hour search of the Erie County Central Police Services building Saturday turned up no explosives after dispatchers received a 911 call from a person who threatened that the building on Elm Street in Buffalo was going to explode.

The call came in at 1:24 p.m., according to an Erie County Sheriff's Office news release. Bomb squad members and two explosives detection teams including police dogs searched the building but found nothing amiss.

The case was turned over to Sheriff's Office detectives for further investigation, the release said.
