Heads up: Tickets on sale for five new shows in Buffalo

Sure, we're in the throes of winter, but looking ahead to warm-weather concerts is a perfectly healthy form of escapism.

Tickets for five solid area shows - from country to Swedish death metal - go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 8, and we're here to pass along the information.

Zac Brown Band

Who: Grizzly Zac Brown and his band return to Darien - separate from the Country Megaticket package - on The Owl Tour. The Atlanta-native frontman and his deep cast of performers visits Western New York on an almost annual basis.

Event details: 7 p.m. June 15 in Darien Lake Amphitheatre (9993 Allegheny Road, Darien).

Tickets: Prices start at $40.25 and may be purchased here.

Passion Pit

Who: Buffalo native and Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos will make his return to the area to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the band's breakout album, "Manners."

Event details: 7 p.m. May 19 in Rapids Theatre (1711 Main St., Niagara Falls).

Tickets: Advance tickets are $37.50 and may be purchased here.

Who: There's been no shortage of chances to see Foreigner in the Buffalo-area, but another is slated for late this summer in Lewiston. The legendary rock band has accrued 10 multi-platinum albums and has persevered in one form or another through four decades. Lou Gramm may no longer be part of the cast, but there's still plenty of history to appreciate.

Event details: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 27 in Artpark (450 S. 4th St., Lewiston).

Tickets: Prices range from $17-$37 and may be purchased here.

Tickets: Prices range from $29-$49 and may be purchased here.

Who: No, not the movie, but the Swedish death metal band that's a rarity in Buffalo. The five-piece's most-recent release was "Avatar Country" a year ago.

Event details: 7 p.m. May 16 in Town Ballroom (681 Main St.).

Tickets: Prices range from $25-$29 and may be purchased here.
