Bills open with long odds for 2020 Super Bowl

Oddsmakers expect more of the same for the 2019 season.

Fresh off their victory in Super Bowl LIII on Sunday night, the New England Patriots open as 6-to-1 favorites to repeat next year in Super Bowl LIV, according to odds released by BetOnline. Just behind New England is the team it beat in the AFC Championship Game, Kansas City (7-to-1) and the team it beat Sunday night, the Los Angeles Rams (8-to-1). The New Orleans Saints, who lost to the Rams in the NFC title game, are next at 9-to-1.

Where are the Buffalo Bills, you ask? They're way down the list, tied for the second-worst odds, at 80-to-1. Buffalo is joined by Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit and Washington at 80-to-1. Just four teams have worst odds -- the Cardinals, Raiders, Jets and Dolphins are listed at 100-to-1.

Similarly, ESPN's way-too-early power rankings for the 2019 season don't paint an optimistic picture for the Bills, who rank 29th on the list.
