Want to learn how to lobby? Workshop will show citizens how

The League of Women Voters of Buffalo Niagara will hold a workshop on citizen lobbying  Feb. 9 at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Amherst.

The workshop will offer training on how to write letters to area news outlets and how to contact elected representatives. Training on how to establish and circulate petitions will also be covered.

The workshop is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to noon.

The training will be conducted by Ann Converso, an experience advocate and the League's legislative advocacy chairwoman. Participants will also learn how a bill becomes a law, how to track its progress and how to conduct a lobbying visit with an elected official.
