An Orchard Park man was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated during the town's declared state of emergency and driving ban, according to the Orchard Park Police Department.
Police said they observed Dennis Orlow, 53, driving on South Lincoln Avenue in the Village of Orchard Park. Orlow turned onto School Street, driving east into westbound traffic, said police. Orlow was stopped and an investigation determined that he was intoxicated, police added.
Orlow's vehicle was impounded and he was transported to the Orchard Park Town Police Department, where Orlow refused to submit to a Breathalyzer, police said.
He was also charged with driving in violation of a driving ban, failure to keep right and additional charges are pending, according to police.
Orlow was released on bail to a sober driver and scheduled to appear at a later date in Orchard Park Village Court, police reported.
