David J. Wahler, 66, investment adviser with Wells Fargo

David J. Wahler, of Orchard Park, an investment adviser, died unexpectedly Sunday in an Albany hospital where he had undergone surgery. He was 66.

Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and attended Erie Community College.

He worked in the General Motors plant in the Town of Tonawanda until the early 1980s, when he began his career as a stockbroker. He joined the local office of A.G. Edwards and Sons in the 1990s and became vice president for investments.

He continued as vice president for investments after the firm became Wachovia and later Wells Fargo, a position he held at the time of his death.

Mr. Wahler was a Mason and had been active in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Buffalo, where he assisted with financial matters.

He enjoyed fishing at Round Lake, near Algonquin Provincial Park in northern Ontario, where his parents had vacationed.

He and his wife, the former Kathleen Webdale, were married in 1975.

Survivors also include a daughter, Nicole; two sons, Joseph and David; two brothers, Gary and Robert; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in Amigone Funeral Home, 6170 W. Quaker St., Orchard Park.
