Natalie Beilein was announced Wednesday as the new executive director of Isaiah 61, a faith-based organization in Niagara Falls that trains low-income residents in the building trades.
Beilein, a member of the Lewiston-Porter Board of Education, formerly was a school counselor specializing in at-risk youth.
"This program naturally aligns with working with the marginalized," she said.
Isaiah 61 sold a house on 16th Street for $80,000 in November. President Matt Green said the proceeds will jump-start the group's planned home renovations on Memorial Parkway in the Falls and Locust Street in Lockport.
A mandatory orientation for the next four-month class is set for Feb. 18, with instruction starting Feb. 25. Applications are available at project-61.org.
