Barker Village Board plans twice-weekly meetings in wake of fire

The Barker Village Board will hold meetings at 7 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday until further notice, to be available to answer public questions in the wake of the Jan. 20 fire that destroyed the Village Hall and public library, which were in the same building.

Village Trustee Seanna Corwin-Bradley said Wednesday that the meetings will be held in the Police Department, 1697 East Ave. The regularly scheduled Monday board meetings, including the one next week, have been canceled. The board is no longer meeting every night, as it had been since the blaze.

Corwin-Bradley, who also is president of the library board, said plans are afoot for a temporary drop-off location for items borrowed from the library before the fire, but the site has not yet been chosen.
