I found it interesting that Mark Schroeder was appointed head of the state Department of Motor Vehicles by the governor. He has done a great job for the city and it is a major loss. Also interesting is Mayor Byron W. Brown is no longer head of the state Democratic Party. Do we think the mayor asked the governor to appoint Schroeder to the DMV position and the governor was happy to do it so the governor could appoint someone else? That way the mayor is rid of his opponent in Buffalo and the governor was able to appoint a downstater as head of the Democratic party. Makes governor and mayor happy.
