This is in response to the recent letter writer’s comment concerning ticketing red light runners instead of raising parking rates. After moving to New York six years ago, I settled in Amherst. I became oriented to the area using Maple, Sheridan and Niagara Falls Boulevard. Two things immediately stuck out like a sore thumb. One, the large percentage of red light runners. I agree with the letter writer. Enforcement would not only provide a steady revenue, it would also increase public safety.
