UB, SUNY Buffalo State, ECC, Medaille join schools closing for weather

Several local colleges have announced they are closing their campuses because of the winter storm bearing down on Western New York through Thursday.

The University at Buffalo and SUNY Buffalo State have canceled classes and activities for Thursday.

Erie Community College announced that all three of its campuses would be closed effective 3 p.m. Tuesday and would remain closed Wednesday and Thursday.

The Buffalo campus of Medaille College closed at 4 p.m. Tuesday and will be closed Wednesday and Thursday as well.

D'Youville College also announced it would be closed Thursday.

Canisius College and Niagara University have both canceled classes Thursday, but the Canisius-Niagara basketball game at 7 p.m. in the Gallagher Center at Niagara University is still on track.

The UB Women's game against Ball State Wednesday in Indiana was postponed until Feb. 20.
