North Tonawanda Alderman at Large Robert E. Pecoraro announced Monday that he will run for his second full four-year term this year.
Pecoraro, 61, a Republican, served more than 30 years in the Air Force, retiring as a colonel. He commanded an air base in Spain that supported U.S. operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He continues to serve as Western New York group commander of the Civil Air Patrol.
He said economic growth and infrastructure are among his main city interests. He said he advocated buying a new paver, and in 2018 the city repaved a record 17.1 miles of streets.
Besides his political work, Pecoraro is first vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas.
