My wife always talks about walking in the shoes of others before you comment about them and their situation.
Our politicians and people of wealth should have taken heed of that as they discussed the people who were furloughed without pay.
As an example our Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, didn’t understand why there is a problem. He knew that they are eventually going to get paid and he also wondered why they don’t get a loan. He is correct.
He doesn’t understand the problem.
Better yet, he tried to make amends by stating that he was “painfully” (he stumbled on the word) aware of the hardships inflicted on individual workers. Really?
And we say, unfortunately, “you don’t know what you don’t know.” Maybe we all should first try living on a weekly pay system and then try living without that money for a month or so.
Then we can talk about it.
