Logging in on Monday, Jan. 21 from Seattle to check on my brethren in Western New York I was horrified to see the article referencing a potential closure of the Liberty Hound restaurant.
My husband and I visited last fall (Bills game of course). It was his first time in the city. We meandered to the waterfront and enjoyed lunch at the Liberty Hound. The food was good. And the company and atmosphere were indescribable – warm, welcoming and all that is Buffalo. The weather wasn’t great and the crowd was very thin, but we chatted with the owner, the wait staff and found some commonalities that made this visit above all a positive, memorable experience.
The Liberty Hound took a chance when others held back, and has succeeded. It’s the next Buffalo tradition. Look past the money – in the age of chains and gimmicky fare, the Liberty Hound is the real deal. There should be no question about awarding the lease elsewhere.
