As a partner at Colligan Law, Matthew Pelkey has been credited with being an integral part of the firm's growth and success. He is at the center of Buffalo's startup community, providing legal services to entrepreneurs and cutting-edge businesses, and counseling high-growth startups.
Pelkey is a professor at his alma mater, the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he is program director at the university's Entrepreneurship Law Center. He plans and oversees the Innovation Hub's entrepreneurial clinical programs and is a mentor, lecturer and judge for UB's Blackstone Launchpad. He also mentors through StartFast Business Accelerator, the Founder Institute and Buffalo Startup Weekend.
He co-founded both the Buffalo chapter of Google Entrepreneurs' Startup Grind and Launch NY's monthly #LaunchHour Twitter chat. He is also a member of the 43North Tweet Team.
Pelkey is also passionate about sustainable development and is an active volunteer, especially with the Parkside Community Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors.
