Launch NY invests $230,000 in five companies

Launch New York invested $230,000 in five upstate companies, capping a busy 2018 for its seed fund, the organization reported.

The five companies and the investments they received were: Ru's Pierogi, Buffalo, $50,000; Continual Care Solutions, Rochester, $50,000; Eat Me Ice Cream, Rochester, $50,000; K-nessio, Rochester, $30,000; and Ionica Sciences, Ithaca, $50,000.

Launch New York mentors and invests in startups, covering the 27 counties in the western half of New York State. In 2018, its seed fund invested in a total of 13 companies.

Launch New York just announced it was awarded a $4.5 million grant from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, opening the door to more investments in startups.
