Daemen wins is tied for first in ECC men's standings

Daemen (16-3) followed Friday's overtime victory over defending East Coast Conference champion St. Thomas Aquinas with a 95-66 league win over the University of the District Columbia, 95-66, on Sunday afternoon at Lumsden Gymnasium in Amherst.

Daemen and Molloy, each 8-1 in ECC play, are alone in first place because St. Thomas Aquinas (7-2), the league champion the last three seasons was upset at Roberts Wesleyan, 71-65, on Sunday.  Daemen will host Roberts Wesleyan on Thursday night in a men's-women's doubleheader.

Andrew Sischo with 19 points led six Daemen players who scored in double figures in Sunday's victory. Quinn Lee Yaw (Jamestown) has 13 points and 10 rebounds for Daemen.

Freshman Katie Titus equalled her career best 24 points in leading the Daemen women (10-8, 7-2) over UDC, 79-47, on Sunday. It was the Wildcats' sixth win in a row.

Daemen coach Jenepfer Banker recorded her 100th career win as a collegiate coach. Banker, who is in her third season at Daemen, previously won 67 games over five seasons at Penn-State Behrend.
