Bliss Custom Homes focuses on quality, value home building

Located at 8825 Roll Road in Clarence, the elegant home by Bliss Custom Homes is a first for Paul Bliss, who has assembled a team with nearly 80 years of combined construction experience to now build custom homes.

Known for his commercial construction and land development, Bliss has focused his expertise toward building high quality homes that provide outstanding value for the customer.

Set back from the road, the Craftsman inspired exterior features crisp white trim against a backdrop of slate blue architectural shingles and stone. A covered front porch gives the home beautiful curb appeal, while six inch walls keep the home quiet at all times of the day.

The four bedroom, 2-1/2 bath dwelling also features a 2-1/2 car garage with storage that many growing families need.

The owners’ entrance from the garage opens into a large mudroom with cubbies and plenty of room for removing footwear, hanging jackets, unloading groceries, etc.

Wider ash hardwood floors are featured throughout the first floor, including in the main areas of the kitchen and living room.

White Aristokraft kitchen cabinets provide plenty of storage, as does a large island done in nice contrasting dark wood. The island provides extra work and/or eating space for both casual meals or large family gatherings.

Countertops are gray and white toned quartzite that is both beautiful and durable. (Quartzite is also used in the home’s baths.) The countertops are set off by classic white subway tile.

Stainless steel Jenn-Air appliances are built in, including dual wall ovens, one a convection. Nearby is a gas cooktop under a sharp stainless steel hood.

A deep sink is positioned in front of three windows overlooking the big back yard. Just off the kitchen is huge walk in pantry with shelving. A nearby nook could be used for storing cookbooks, a home computer, a charging station, or whatever a busy family might need to stay organized.

The kitchen opens to a dinette, then a big family room with coffered ceilings. A stone fireplace is surrounded by beautiful custom built-in shelving and cabinets.

The home benefits from natural light provided by the many Andersen 400 series windows used throughout.

At the front of the home is a formal dining room done with chair rail, panel molding and a step ceiling.

Across the hall, a home den/office with French doors could also be used as a sitting room. Crown molding is featured in the dining room, den and foyer.

A turned staircase leads to the second level. The wood stairs feature a rug runner, while wrought iron balusters give the stairs a unique, light look.

To the right of the landing is the large master bedroom with the master bath and a walk-in closet done by California Closets.

The master bath features a large soaking tub, a walk-in shower and a compartmentalized toilet. The dual sink vanity is unique, as it fits into the corner area. The master bath features chair rail and panel molding, along with a completely tiled floor and walk-in shower.

Three good-sized secondary bedrooms are serviced by another full bath with a tub/shower arrangements and a dual sink.

Also important for a family is a large second floor laundry room with a big sink, lots of counterspace, plenty of cabinets and tile floor. For extra storage, there is attic space over the garage that is accessed through a door.

The 3,167 square foot home sits on a .75 acre lot and is across the street from farmland for a rural feel, yet is a short distance from both Transit Road and Clarence Center. The basement could be finished if the customer desires more living space.

The home is priced at $634,900, and will be shown this weekend from 1 to 4 p.m. After, the home will be shown Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m., or
by appointment by contacting Trey McDermid of Hunt Real Estate at (716) 316-7994 or

Bliss Custom Homes also has several buildable lots currently available or can build on your own lot. Look for two new subdivisions coming from Bliss Custom Homes in the near future.
