After enjoying a four-game homestand, the Buffalo Bandits will travel to Rochester for an 8 p.m. game tonight against the Knighthawks.
Buffalo (4-1) has not been on the road since their season opening win over the Philadelphia Wings on Dec. 15. They’ll be seeking their fourth straight victory.
The Bandits and Knighthawks have met once before this season, a 13-4 Buffalo triumph.
Buffalo goaltender Matt Vinc stopped 55 Rochester shots in the win, cementing himself as the National Lacrosse League’s all-time leader in saves.
Now, the Canisius College graduate returns to the city that he called home for eight seasons of his historic 14-year career.
It’s Vinc’s stellar goaltending, combined with Buffalo’s potent offense, that has given the team a league-leading plus-16 goal differential and has fueled their three-game win streak.
The Bandits are currently second in the league in goals scored with 72. Thomas Hoggarth is responsible for 12 of those.
Nine-year NLL veteran Cody Jamieson leads Rochester (1-3) with seven goals and 11 assists.
The Knighthawks lost, 12-7, in their last game against the Saskatchewan Rush. Their only win came on Dec. 29 against Philadelphia.
It’ll be Military Night at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, where all military personnel, including veterans and reserves, can receive one free ticket to the game.
In addition, both the Bandits and Knighthawks will sport military-themed uniforms that will be auctioned off during the game.
The game can be heard on ESPN 1520 or seen on Bleacher Report Live.
After the match with Rochester, Buffalo will stay on the road for a meeting with the 3-1 New England Black Wolves in Uncasville, Conn. Sunday at 6 p.m.
