Springville bar-restaurant Papa Jakes Saloon announces closing

The final day of business for Papa Jakes Saloon in Springville will be Jan. 26, a call to the restaurant confirmed.

Papa Jakes, at 243 W. Main St., is known for its fish fry, beef on weck and standard regional cuisine like burgers and wings. It was previously Pop's Sports Bar and Grill until 2009 and the headquarters of Robinson Knife for a major stretch of the building's history, the Springville Times wrote.

The Springville Papa Jakes, owned by Chris Walter, had no affiliation with the Elmwood Avenue Papa Jake's, which closed in summer 2015 and is now Nye Park Tavern.
