This year's Western New York Farm Show will include lumberjack events such as the "Jack and Jill Crosscut," "Open Springboard" and "Open Axe Throw."
The inaugural Lumberjack Classic starting at 10 a.m. Feb. 2 will feature nationally ranked timbersport competitors, and is one of the new features at the farm show, Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg. A Farmer's Bazaar showcasing local, homemade and regionally grown products also is new this year. The free show also will have a number of spectator competitions, like the popular hay bale throwing contest.
The Farm Show aims to educate farmers about the latest cutting-edge agricultural products and technology. Industry professionals also will lead seminars daily, and farmers will be able to earn spray credits during pesticide recertification classes.
