Daemen moves up to 17th in national Division II poll

Daemen men's basketball moved up from 19th to 17th in the NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors of American national poll. Coach Mike MacDonald's Wildcats are 14-3 for the season. The received 132 points in the poll, 11 behind UC San Diego and Washburn (Kan.) who tied for 15th with 143 points each and 15-3 records.

Daemen will have an opportunity to move up on Friday when it faces three-time East Coast Conference defending champion St. Thomas Aquinas at Lumsden Gymnasium in Amherst. St. Thomas Aquinas (15-2) is 11th in this week's poll.

Bellarmine (Ky.) remains in first place with 396 points and a 16-0 record. Northwest Missouri State (17-0) is in second place with 388 points.
