An Amherst-based company is one of 18 finalists vying for a total of $350,000 in FuzeHub's New York State Commercialization Competition next month in Albany.
Algorhythm Technologies, formerly called Bitcrusher, makes sound-effects technology for guitars and other stringed instruments. Seven of the finalists in the Nov. 7 and 8 event will win $50,000 each.
FuzeHub's competition, part of the Jeff Lawrence Manufacturing Innovation Fund, promotes commercialization of new technologies and products. One of the 2017 edition's winners, SparkCharge, just won the $1 million grand prize in 43North's contest.
When Algorhythm Technologies was still known by its previous name, the company last April won the Panasci Entrepreneurial Competition presented by the University at Buffalo.
