Three Buffalo men accused of fleeing police after reckless drive

Three Buffalo men were arrested Thursday after fleeing police, first in a car, and then on foot, according to the Buffalo Police Department.

Joel Dean, 21, Jalique Allen, 28, and Dason Lofton, 20, face several charges after their reckless drive became a foot pursuit for officers.

Officers responded to a shots fired call around 4 p.m. on Jones Street, with witnesses telling police that a vehicle was traveling at a very high rate of speed and not obeying  traffic rules. When officers arrived, they said the defendants continued driving recklessly; they ignored the officers' lights and sirens and eventually fled from the vehicle.

The three were all charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing a police officer, attempted assault with a weapon, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief.
