The Bisons answered one question on Tuesday when they announced Sahlen's now has the naming rights for the ballpark.
That inspired an obvious follow-up query: Will a hot dog join the lineup for the team's inter-innings food-based footraces?
The Bisons started the Wing, Cheese, Celery race, which is sponsored by (716) Food and Sport, in 2011 with its original three competitors: Chicken Wing, Bleu Cheese and Celery.
Atomic Wing joined the next year. That lineup stayed intact until this season, when the retired Celery was replaced by Beef on Weck and Carrot.
The idea of throwing Hot Dog into the race isn't fully cooked, but General Manager Mike Buczkowski did say on Tuesday that the team would work with Sahlen's on creative marketing approaches.
"Frankly we're just now starting to muster up a lot of great ideas on including Sahlen's in a number of our promotions," said Bisons spokesman Brad Bisbing.
With Sahlen's name on the stadium, we can only assume that every race would end with Hot Dog crowned the wiener.
