The last thing the struggling Houston Texans need is to have quarterback Deshaun Watson watching this game from the sidelines. He’s listed day to day with a chest injury, but then again, aren’t we all?
The Texans have been doing a terrible job protecting him, and if the human piñata is not under center Sunday, it will be quarterback Brandon Weeden, who is 2-11 straight up against the spread in his last eleven NFL starts – but 2-0 with Houston. It doesn’t mask the fact that Houston is wobbling at just 3-12 straight up in its last 15 games, including a pair of overtime wins in its last two games. It is also 1-6 against the spread the last seven games as a favorite of 7 or more points (should Watson play).
Buffalo enters with wins in two of its last three games behind new quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills are 8-3 straight up against the spread in their last 11 battles with AFC South opponents, including 4-0 against those coming off a win.
Watson or not, we’re Bills backers once again today.
The prediction: Buffalo over Houston by 3
