[BN] Blitz newsletter: Bills CB Tre'Davious White limited ahead of matchup with DeAndre Hopkins

Bills' No. 1 cornerback Tre'Davious White was limited in practice for the second straight day on Thursday due to an ankle injury.

White's availability for Sunday's game against the Texans doesn't appear to be in jeopardy just yet, but it's certainly a situation worth monitoring considering how valuable White is to the Bills' defense – and how much they're going to need him this week.

White is earning the reputation of being a shutdown corner, routinely matching up with an opponent's top receiver and keeping him in check. His matchup this week is Houston's DeAndre Hopkins, one of the game's most explosive playmakers who ranks first in receiving yards with 594 yards in five games. Pro Football Focus graded him as the second-best receiver so far this season at 89.6, trailing only Tampa's DeSean Jackson (91.1).

Check back Friday for an update on White's status in the final practice of the week. If he's a full participant, that'll be a good sign.

Healthy again, Jerry Hughes back to creating havoc: Jay Skurski summed it up nicely: "Just how good of a year is Jerry Hughes having for the Buffalo Bills? ... By one measure, he’s applied more pressure to opposing quarterbacks than Chicago Bears superstar Khalil Mack."

Marlowe signed to practice squad: After cutting Marlowe for QB Derek Anderson, the Bills added him back to the practice squad.

NFL picks for Week 6: Buffalo +9.5 at Houston? Mark Gaughan and Jay Skurski took the points.

Bettors Guide: Milt Northrop made the Chiefs-Pats matchup his Game of the Week. He picked the Patriots to win and cover at home in a high-powered offensive showing.

Bills' pass rush rebounded: with good showing: The Bills were credited with pressuring Marcus Mariota on 11 of 33 dropbacks.

Texans butter up Allen: Houston's Jadeveon Clowney called Josh Allen the "heart and soul" of the Bills, while Tyrann Mathieu added, "Obviously, he has great talent around him."

Voice of the Fan: This piece contained a line that hasn't been used much in these parts lately. "I don’t know about you, but there was no doubt in my mind the kick was going to be true before the snap. Stephen Hauschka is that good." I can't remember the last time Bills fans felt this good about their kicker.
