Driver allegedly flees after collision with school bus in Elmwood Village

The driver of a car involved in a collision with a school bus Thursday afternoon apparently fled the scene of the accident, according to a spokesman for the Buffalo Police Department.

The accident occurred at 4:45 p.m. at Breckenridge and Herkimer streets, with initial reports saying the bus was struck by a vehicle, Michael J. DeGeorge said in an email. About 16 students were on the bus, and there were no reports of injuries to the students.

The driver of the car left his vehicle and apparently fled on foot, DeGeorge said.
