The Buffalo Bills bounced back after a disappointing pass-rushing effort against the Packers with a solid showing against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5.
According to Pro Football Focus, the Bills pressured Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota on 11 of his 33 drop backs, which equates to a 33.3 percent pressure rate.
In Week 4, Buffalo pressured Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on 19.6 percent of his drop backs.
Over the past two games, Buffalo has pressured the opposing signal-caller on 20 of 79 drop backs, good for a 25.3 percent pressure rate.
Against Tennessee, defensive end Jerry Hughes led the Bills with four pressures -- one sack and three hurries. Defensive end Trent Murphy added three pressures.
Heading into a Week 6 trip to Houston to take on the Texans, the Bills are now 11th in defensive pressure rate with a pressure percentage of 35.2. The league pressure-rate average after Week 5 is now 32.6 percent.
The Titans were able to pressure quarterback Josh Allen on six of his 21 drop backs, or 28.5 percent of the time he dropped back to pass. That is the lowest pressure rate allowed by Buffalo's offensive line thus far in the 2018 regular season.
Right guard John Miller had his second "shutout" of the young season in regards to pressures allowed. The rest of Buffalo's starting offensive line allowed one pressure a piece, and Allen was credited for one pressure.
The Bills play the Texans in Week 6. Houston is 30th in defensive pressure rate at 25.7 percent. Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has been pressured 45.7 percent of the time (107 of 234 drop backs) this season.
